The Saint-Roch chapel in Lamure-sur-Azergues (Beaujolais, France) was vandalized on March 28. Reported damage includes broken stained-glass windows and damaged doors. The Saint-Martin church in Beaujeu, located about 15 km away, was also damaged in a separate act.

Catholic Italian author Vittorio Messori, 84, died on Good Friday in Desenzano, Italy.
