Book of Exodus 12,1-8.11-14.
The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt,
"This month shall stand at the head of your calendar; you shall reckon it the first month of the year.
Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth of this month every one of your families must procure for itself a lamb, one apiece for each household.
If a family is too small for a whole lamb, it shall join the nearest household in procuring one and shall share in the lamb in proportion to the number of persons who partake of it.
The lamb must be a year-old male and without blemish. You may take it from either the sheep or the goats.
You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, and then, with the whole assembly of Israel present, it shall be slaughtered during the evening twilight.
They shall take some of its blood and apply it to the two doorposts and the lintel of every house in which they partake of the lamb.
That same night they shall eat its roasted flesh with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
"This is how you are to eat it: with your loins girt, sandals on your feet and your staff in hand, you shall eat like those who are in flight. It is the Passover of the LORD.
For on this same night I will go through Egypt, striking down every first--born of the land, both man and beast, and executing judgment on all the gods of Egypt - I, the LORD!
But the blood will mark the houses where you are. Seeing the blood, I will pass over you; thus, when I strike the land of Egypt, no destructive blow will come upon you.
"This day shall be a memorial feast for you, which all your generations shall celebrate with pilgrimage to the LORD, as a perpetual institution."

How shall I make a return to the LORD
for all the good he has done for me?
The cup of salvation I will take up,
and I will call upon the name of the LORD.
Precious in the eyes of the LORD
is the death of his faithful ones.
I am your servant, the son of your handmaid;
you have loosed my bonds.
To you will I offer sacrifice of thanksgiving,
and I will call upon the name of the LORD.
My vows to the LORD I will pay
in the presence of all his people.

In jenen Tagen sprach der HERR zu Mose und Aaron im Land Ägypten:
Dieser Monat soll die Reihe eurer Monate eröffnen, er soll euch als der Erste unter den Monaten des Jahres gelten.
Sagt der ganzen Gemeinde Israel: Am Zehnten dieses Monats soll jeder ein Lamm für seine Familie holen, ein Lamm für jedes Haus.
Ist die Hausgemeinschaft für ein Lamm zu klein, so nehme er es zusammen mit dem Nachbarn, der seinem Haus am nächsten wohnt, nach der Anzahl der Personen. Bei der Aufteilung des Lammes müsst ihr berücksichtigen, wie viel der Einzelne essen kann.
Nur ein fehlerfreies, männliches, einjähriges Lamm darf es sein, das Junge eines Schafes oder einer Ziege müsst ihr nehmen.
Ihr sollt es bis zum vierzehnten Tag dieses Monats aufbewahren. In der Abenddämmerung soll die ganze versammelte Gemeinde Israel es schlachten.
Man nehme etwas von dem Blut und bestreiche damit die beiden Türpfosten und den Türsturz an den Häusern, in denen man es essen will.
Noch in der gleichen Nacht soll man das Fleisch essen. Über dem Feuer gebraten und zusammen mit ungesäuertem Brot und Bitterkräutern soll man es essen.
So aber sollt ihr es essen: eure Hüften gegürtet, Schuhe an euren Füßen und euren Stab in eurer Hand. Esst es hastig! Es ist ein Pessach für den HERRN. – das heißt: Vorübergang des Herrn.
In dieser Nacht gehe ich durch das Land Ägypten und erschlage im Land Ägypten jede Erstgeburt bei Mensch und Vieh. Über alle Götter Ägyptens halte ich Gericht, ich, der HERR.
Das Blut an den Häusern, in denen ihr wohnt, soll für euch ein Zeichen sein. Wenn ich das Blut sehe, werde ich an euch vorübergehen und das vernichtende Unheil wird euch nicht treffen, wenn ich das Land Ägypten schlage.
Diesen Tag sollt ihr als Gedenktag begehen. Feiert ihn als Fest für den HERRN! Für eure kommenden Generationen wird es eine ewige Satzung sein, das Fest zu feiern!

Wie kann ich dem HERRN vergelten all das Gute, das er mir erwiesen?
Den Becher des Heils will ich erheben. Ausrufen will ich den Namen des HERRN.
Kostbar ist in den Augen des HERRN der Tod seiner Frommen.
Ach HERR, ich bin doch dein Knecht, dein Knecht bin ich, der Sohn deiner Magd! Gelöst hast du meine Fesseln.
Ich will dir ein Opfer des Dankes bringen, ausrufen will ich den Namen des HERRN.
